The Pixelmator team on Thursday released Pixelmator for iPhone, the iPhone version of its popular Mac and iPad image editor. The new iPhone compatible app includes tools for enhancing photos, drawing and painting, as well as for advanced image editing with layers, text, shapes, and more.
“We are super excited to introduce a world class, advanced image editor for iPhone,” said Saulius Dailide, one of the founders of the Pixelmator Team. “Our team created the first-ever mobile image editor that has all the tools you need whether you are a mobile photographer, mobile painter or a mobile graphic designer.”
Pixelmator includes a number of tools not normally found in image editors made for the smaller screen of the iPhone including: more than 100 outstanding double-texture brushes, color-picking tools, color adjustment tools, precise retouching tools, Metal-based Distort tools, as well as a collection of breathtaking effects, all backed by an OpenGL ES- and A8X-based Paint Engine.
The layer-based editor allows user to combine text, shapes and images to create compositions right on the iPhone. Pixelmator’s selection tools allow users to select and edit areas of an image, use smart alignment guides to perfect an image’s composition, merge and organize image layers, apply Layer Styles, and Blending modes.
The app also makes use of the latest iOS 8 features, including iCloud Drive, Handoff, Document Picker, and the Photos app editing extension.
Pixelmator for iPhone is available for $4.99 in the App Store. [PURCHASE IT HERE]
