Apple on Tuesday began offering several refurbished models of the iPad Air 2 tablet in their online store. This marks the first time that refurbished models of Apple’s newest tablet have been offered.
Released in October of 2014, the iPad Air 2 features a slimmer body than the original iPad Air, plus a triple-core A8X processor, an 8-megapixel camera Touch ID, and a gapless display with an anti-reflective screen coating.
Refurbished iPad Air 2 models run the gamut from an entry level 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad Air 2 ($419), all the way up to a 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model ($689). The refurbished units are discounted by 15 to 17 percent, ($80 to $160).
As is usual with Apple’s refurbished products, the refurbished iPad Air 2 units all have a full one-year warranty, a new battery, and a new outer shell.
If you’re in the market for an iPad Air 2, the refurbished models are an excellent value. Be sure to scoot on over to the online store though, as refurbished inventory fluctuates like crazy, and these may be gone before you know it.
