WWDC 2015 Ticket Lottery Winners Begin Receiving Notices

If you entered the lottery for the privilege of buying a ticket to Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, (WWDC 2015), you should be receiving an email soon if you won.

MacRumors:

Now that the lottery has ended, Apple has begun sending out emails to developers who were selected and has charged their credit cards the $1,599 ticket price. Developers who won are currently sharing their good fortune on Twitter after receiving order confirmations.

Developer demand for tickets for WWDC always far outstrips supply, so Apple accepted lottery entries for tickets from April 14, up ’til today, Friday April 17 at 10AM Pacific time.

WWDC 2015 starts on June 8, and runs until June 12 at Moscone Center West in San Francisco. Apple is expected to unveil iOS 9 and OS X 10.11.

Over 1,500 Apple engineers will be on hand, hosting over 100 technical sessions and labs. Apple will likely use the event’s keynote to debut new products, and hand out the annual Apple Design Awards.

Developers who didn’t win the privilege of buying a ticket for this years WWDC can still watch several live streams of WWDC sessions.

Apple will also award up to 350 scholarships to WWDC 2015. The increase in scholarships, up from 200 in past years, will benefit students and developers belonging to select STEM organizations that promote diversity.
