Apple Watch Performance Issues to be Fixed by an Update Ahead of Launch

Reviews of the Apple Watch have been pouring in, and a number of the review mention some performance problems, such as stuttering when loading notifications. Apple says the issues will be addressed by a software update, expected to be released before the April 24 debut of the Watch.

AppleInsider:

On Wednesday The Verge said that the Watch can sometimes stutter loading notifications, and take too long to load apps or pull data and location from a paired iPhone. In some cases third-party apps may not load at all, and the Watch can periodically become unresponsive for a few seconds.

Apple has informed The Verge that it is at least hoping to improve the speed of third-party apps ahead of the April 24 public launch, but didn’t specify an exact release date for the fixes.

Apple today lifted the embargo on Apple Watch reviews, resulting in a flood of reviews hitting the web.

Pre-orders for the Apple Watch will begin at 12:01AM Pacific Time on Friday, April 10. Try-on appointments for the Watch will also be available that same day, with the Watch officially launching on April 24.
