The TrackR bravo, a small brushed-aluminum tracking device that helps you locate lost or stolen items using Bluetooth and “Crowd GPS”, debuted on Monday.
The TrackR bravo, available now for $29.99, allows you to find lost items via either Bluetooth, or Crowd GPS. (More about that later.)
Features of the device include:
- Thinnest tracking device to locate any lost or misplaced item in seconds
- Finds items with Bluetooth or Crowd GPS
- 2-way ringer means your phone can find your keys, and your keys can find your phone, even on silent
- Only brushed-aluminum trackR that looks as good as your accessories
- Uses a reusable battery which cuts down on lifetime costs, and keeps the crowd GPS network strong
- App integrates with home Wi-Fi and Nest network to disable alerts from sounding when wandering around the house
Funding for the TrackR bravo was raised on Indiegogo, where the company raised over $1,000,000.
“Technology long ago streamlined organization and inventory management for companies, while consumers have been left to use arcane methods like key hooks to keep track of the items that matter most to them,” says Chris Herbert, TrackR CEO & Co-Founder. “We envision a world where you can keep a database of your most important possessions and find them with the touch of a button. With TrackR bravo, we created a new kind of personal inventory management system to do just that, by tracking items using your smartphone.”
The TrackR is different from other Bluetooth trackers as it allows you to find your items after they have been lost, even if out of Bluetooth range, by relying on the thousands of active TrackR users.
When a TrackR attached item goes missing, the phones of all TrackR users will immediately begin to look for that item. If another user finds the item, the GPS coordinates of the item will be automatically and anonymously sent to the owner of the item.
The TrackR Crowd GPS network coverage can be viewed on the TrackR website, and is updated monthly. The Crowd GPS network sends out over 80 updates per minute via TrackR’s active Crowd GPS users.
