My household has 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, an iPod touch, 2 iPad battery cases, and even the odd Android device laying around. So as you might imagine, chargers are at a premium at the old homestead. So when I was offered the chance to review the quad-port Triforce Charger from Lightning Rabbit, I immediately said yes.
Overview
The Triforce Desktop USB Charger is a stylishly triangular aluminum-wrapped, slightly quirky looking piece of work that sports a built-in 48W of charging power, accessible via one of four USB outlets.
The Triforce plugs into the nearest outlet, and allows you to charge up to 4 separate mobile devices at once. This baby even has enough power to charge four iPads at once!
The Triforce works with just about any mobile device, iPhone, iPad, Kindle, Android tablet, and it will even charge your PS3 or PS4 video game controllers!
The USB ports are all intelligent, auto-detecting the appropriate power needed to charge the device. Use any port, and the Triforce will supply just the wattage needed to give your device a quick, full charge.
The Triforce looks at home on any desk or counter top, and doesn’t take up much room. I found it handy for keeping it on my desk for a quick charge.
Recently, the Triforce proved quite handy when we were threatened by severe winter weather, and were warned that we might experience power outages. So, while my wife ran to the grocery store to grab all of the milk and bread she could possibly carry, I charged our iPads and iPhones, along with two iPad battery cases, so we could at least entertain ourselves while we slowly froze to death.
Verdict
I found the Triforce to work as advertised, and have found it quite handy when I need to charge more than one device at the same time. Its ability to quickly supply a full charge to multiple mobile devices at once has earned itself a permanent place in my home.
The Triforce would be very handy in situations where multiple users need to charge devices, such as an office setting, while traveling, or in a home where there are at least 2 teenagers residing.
While some might find it’s suggested price of $60 a little dear, the Triforce is well worth its special introductory price of $48.79.
