Principal filming of the Steve Jobs biopic is finally underway, and we now have on-set photos showing actors Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogen in their roles as Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, respectively. (as if you couldn’t figure out which one was which all by yourself.)
The pictures published on Monday by U.K. tabloid the Daily Mail offer the first glimpse of how Fassbender and Rogen will appear in their respective roles. Fassbender, is seen in a double-breasted jacket and bowtie with long hair combed back, presumably showing Jobs in the early days of Apple.
The photos show the two stars walking and talking, as well as working with the film’s director, Danny Boyle.
Filming of the long-awaited biopic is taking place in Cupertino, Calif. Jobs and Wozniak assembled their first computer, the Apple I, in nearby Los Altos.
The film, based on the biography by Walter Isaacson, was written by Academy Award winning scribe Aaron Sorkin, and is being directed by Danny Boyle, also an Oscar winner. The movie is said to be set during three separate product launches, culminating in the iMac’s debut in 1998.
Other actors of note in the Jobs cast include: Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley, Kate Winslet as former Mac marketing lead Joanna Hoffman, Kateron Waterston as Jobs’ former girlfriend Chrisann Brenna, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Mac programmer Andy Hertzfeld.
The movie has rode a hard road to production, seeing a number of high-profile actors come and go, in addition to a swap of movie studios. The movie moved from troubled Sony Studios over to Universal last November.
