Twitter has added a new “While You Were Away” feature to their iOS app. The new feature updates users as to what has happened on Twitter since the last time they used the Twitter app, updating them about the posts of people they follow.
Twitter announced the new feature via their official blog on Wednesday.
“A lot can happen while you’re on the go. To fill in some of those gaps, we will surface a few of the best Tweets you probably wouldn’t have seen otherwise, determined by engagement and other factors. If you check in on Twitter now and then for a quick snapshot of what’s happening, you’ll see this recap more often; if you spend a lot of time on Twitter already, you’ll see it less.”
The new feature will attempt to find the most interesting tweets to display from a users timeline, keeping them updated as to the goings-on of those they follow without requiring constant check-ins. All recaps will appear under a special “While You Were Away” header, as seen above.
The new feature is now available on Twitter’s iOS app, while web and Android users should see it appear in their feeds sometime in the near future.
The official Twitter app can be downloaded FREE for the iPhone and iPad in the App Store.
