Review: Presso Design Coffee Sack and Leather iPad Air Sleeve

It seems iPad cases are a dime a dozen these days, so when I got the chance to review an iPad Air sleeve that was literally cut from a different cloth, I jumped at the chance. Today, I’m taking a look at the Presso Design Coffee Sack and Leather iPad Air Sleeve. (At the end of the review, be sure to check out the special 15% offer from Presso Design, exclusively for MacTrast readers.)

Overview

The Presso Coffee Sack case is manufactured in Hungary, using recycled burlap coffee sacks, and 100% real Italian leather. The sleeve features a soft faux suede lining, and securely fastens with a leather strap.

The Presso Coffee Sack iPad case fits snugly around my iPad Air, keeping it encased in soft material and a thin layer of foam padding. When using the case, I feel like it protects my iPad Air quite well, while still allowing me to access my tablet when needed.

What’s really cool about the case is that it’s made out of recycled coffee sacks. (Presso calls them “upcycled.”) While the company does their best to make sure the sleeve you receive is very close to how it’s shown on their website, as they are made from recycled sacks that can lead to differences in the final product, in my opinion adding a nice custom feel to the whole thing.

When ordering the Presso Coffee Sack iPad sleeve, you can specify if you’d like a sleeve that features just text from the bags, or a sleeve that includes text along with a green leaf design. I received the text and leaf model, and I must say that I love the design. It is eye-catching without being gaudy.

The case fits snugly, while still allowing easy access to slide it out of the case. If you use a keyboard with your iPad Air, such as those made by Logitech or Zagg, you’ll need to allow for carrying the keyboard in a backpack or purse. The Presso sleeve only has room for the iPad, nothing else.

Verdict

I enjoy using the Presso Design Coffee Sack and Leather iPad Air Sleeve. The sleeve fits my iPad Air snugly, while allowing easy access. The attractive design gives it a custom look and feel, and the materials used to manufacture the sleeve are high quality, and attractive. Plus, the materials the sleeve is made from should eventually take on a pleasant “used” look, which would only add to the character of a product like this.

At $49, the Presso sleeve is definitely not an impulse buy for many users, but if you’ve been searching for an attractive case for your iPad Air that also does a fine job protecting it, the Presso Design Coffee Sack iPad sleeve deserves a close look.
