AT&T has announced it will be offering a new smartcase for the iPad that will allow you to connect Wi-Fi only models of the iPad to AT&T’s 4G LTE cellular data network. The case will also include a microSD slot to add up to 32GB of additional storage space. as well as a built-in battery.
The AT&T Modio smartcase will be available for iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini with Wi-Fi models initially, followed up by iPad Air 2 and iPad Air with Wi-Fi models.
The smartcase will provide 4G LTE connectivity via a customer’s Mobile Share Plan. More information as to pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.
In addition to cellular data connectivity, the Modio smartcase will also provide a 4,600mAh dedicated battery providing iPad users with up to 10 hours of continuous use, as well a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB of storage.
