A new app, claiming to be the “perfect keyboard” for the iPhone, has already more than tripled its Kickstarter funding goal with 27 days to go.
The app’s creator, a software development company called Tiny Hearts, sought 10,000 CAD ($8,642) for finishing the app, which they claim was about 75% done.
The Next Keyboard, which replaces the standard iOS 8 keyboard, allows you to place the cursor by sliding your finger along the spacebar instead of frustrating yourself by doing it with the default magnifying glass. The keyboard also gives you quick access to emojis, even suggesting emojis as you type.
The keyboard also allows swiping to enter text, and includes themes for personalization, and a new shortcut to numbers and punctuation.
Pledges for the Next Keyboard project run from $1 to $2,500 CAD, with various rewards at each level. The level most users will likely choose is the $5 CAD level, which gives you a copy of the keyboard app upon its release, a custom wallpaper, and a copy of Wake Alarm Clock and 7 Minute Workout – Quick Fit, two of Tiny Hearts other apps.
The company says it’s aiming for a February 2015 launch.
