Doctors recommend that we drink eight glasses of water a day. I don’t drink that much, do you? If only there were something available that would track how much water we drink and remind us when we weren’t drinking enough. Enter 8Cups.
8Cups is a smart water bottle that syncs with an app on your mobile phone to track your water intake and remind you to drink more.
8Cups contains integrated sensors that trigger an LED display to remind you when you need to drink water. The alerts come on a regular, timed basis.
When you do drink, the amount your drink is synced to an app on your smartphone to allow tracking of your water intake and compare it to the goal for the day. The app also saves the intake for each day, for future reference.
8Cups also boasts a wireless charging system. Each charge can last up to a week of regular use.
As you’d expect, the 8Cups bottle is completely waterproof, with all of the sensors sealed inside.
The 8Cups bottle also has a slide-proof bottom to keep it from sliding across wet surfaces, while the top of the bottle is held on magnetically, to keep the bottle securely closed, yet easy to open.
The 8Cups is constructed of Tritan, a safe, BPA-free type of plastic that is long-lasting, and wear resistant. Because it will replace disposable water bottles, it is eco-friendly.
8Cups is available in 5 colors: Pure White, Space Black, Deep Purple, Shiny Emerald, and Ruby Red.
The 8Cups app includes a calendar with a handy timeline to graph your water intake, it provides motivational reminders, allows you to set your own goals for water intake, and even allows you to take selfies for comparison, as your skin and health improve from the proper amount of water intake. There is even planned smartwatch compatibility, sometime in 2015.
