Apple will end production of the iPhone 5c next year, says a report from Taiwan’s Industrial and Commercial Times. Production of the colorful handset will end sometime in the middle of 2015, as Apple manufacturing partners Wistron and Foxconn will wind down production of the device.
The report follows hot on the heels of a similar report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said he believes that production of the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 4S would end in 2015.
Introduced in 2013 as a lower cost option for buyers, the 5c is currently available in a single 8GB model. It is believed that Apple will end production of the 5c and 4S to streamline production, reducing their iPhone lineup to Touch ID-only offerings.
