Natalie Portman may become attached to the Steve Jobs biographical film at Universal, reports Deadline. No word on what role she’s up for, but there are reportedly many female roles in the biopic, including that of Jobs’ daughter Lisa Brennan.
MacRumors notes that Portman is a well known actress that has starred in high profile films like Black Swan and V for Vendetta. Most recently, she had a role in the last two Thor movies, Thor and Thor: The Dark World.
Earlier this week, Universal Studios picked up the Jobs biopic, following a move by Sony Pictures to drop the project. Numerous actors have been mentioned for the lead role of Steve Jobs, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale. Michael Fassbender, star of X-Men: First Class, and X-Men: Days of Future Past has reportedly signed to play the role.
Seth Rogen is reported to be in talks to portray Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The film was written by Aaron Sorkin, and is set to be directed by Danny Boyle, who directed Slumdog Millionaire.
The film, based on Walter Isaacson’s best-selling Steve Jobs biography, will reportedly consist of three 30-minute chunks, all set before the introductions of the Mac, NeXT, and the iPod.
