Apple has launched a new section in its iTunes Store to allow users to donate to City of Hope, a non-profit charity for the research and treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions.
The page can be accessed through the desktop iTunes Store as well as the iTunes and App Store apps on iOS, with options for $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, and $200 donations available.
Apple will transfer 100% of each donation to City of Hope. Apple notes that because your personal information will not be shared with City of Hope, the organization will be unable to acknowledge your donation. You email receipt will serve as acknowledgement of your donation.
Apple has conducted similar funding efforts in the past, which includes drives for Superstorm Sandy relief in 2012, and Japanese earthquake/tsunami relief efforts in 2011.
