Apple debuted the iPad mini 3 at their event on Thursday. The device received a minor update from last years Retina iPad mini, with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and a new gold color option as the only significant changes.
The iPad mini 3 continues to use the same A7 processor as the original Retina iPad mini.
The mini 3 will be available in space grey, silver, and the new gold color options. Storage options include 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB, priced at $399, $499, and $599 respectively. LTE capable models will bring a $130 premium over the Wi-Fi only models.
The iPad mini 3 will be available for pre-order Friday, October 17, and will begin shipping next week.
Apple will also continue to sell the iPad mini 2 in 16 GB ($299 Wi-Fi/$429 LTE) and 32 GB ($349 Wi-Fi/$479 LTE) flavors. The original 16 GB non-Retina iPad mini will also still be available for ($249 Wi-Fi/$379 LTE).
