Apple has released the iOS 8.1 update. The update offers significant features updates to users of Apple’s popular iOS devices, including the activation of Apple Pay, iOS 8/Yosemite Continuity features such as SMS Relay and Instant Hotspot, plus access to iCloud Photo Library, the return of Camera Roll to the Photos app, bug fixes, and more.
iOS 8.1 is now available as an over-the-air download. Users can check for the update via “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update”
The release of iOS 8 updates has not been Apple finest hour, as a last minute HealthKit related bug was discovered just before the release of iOS 8, then iOS 8.0.1 – designed to fix the HealthKit issues – disabled cellular and Touch ID capabilities in Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets.
iOS 8.1 fixes several bugs, including an issue that caused some iOS 8 users to have trouble pairing their phones with their Bluetooth devices.
