A few weeks ago we made the SETA Tablet Stand our Kickstarter of the Week. Now, with the Kickstarter quickly coming to a close, the fine folks behind the SETA – 1.0 Innovations LLC – sent me a sample of their new SETA stand for the iPad and other tablets to try out.
The SETA Tablet Stand is from the same fine folks that made the highly rated SETA Smartphone Stand we reported about back in June of 2013. It supplies the same easy to use and reliable mounting fixture for your tablet as it did in its previous incarnation for smartphones.
This ingenious stand holds your iPad, or other tablet, at just the right angle to allow you to view and use the device while charging it via your default charging/sync cable.
The SETA is available in two sizes, the SETA 7, is designed for smaller tablets, but it works with all sizes of tablets, while the SETA 10 is designed for larger tablets but also works with all sizes of tablets.
If you protect your iPad with a case or shell, and the shell is made of material that won’t allow the SETA’s NanoSuction surface to stick to it, there is also a section of NanoSuction material included in the package to stick to the back of your case, which will then stick to the SETA.
I used the SETA as a charging stand for my iPad, and also used it to allow me to use my iPad as a second screen for my MacBook Pro, and for notes I accessed for reviews.
The SETA is simple, and works as advertised. It just works, as all Apple-related accessories should. The “out of the box to using it” time amounted to about 30 seconds. Cleaning of the NanoSuction pad on the SETA is quick and easy, as it consists of wiping the face of the pad with a damp towel and letting it air dry.
The SETA also looks good while doing its job, and even better, when it isn’t being used. The clean aluminum design of the SETA is an understated, yet beautiful addition to your desktop.
If you’re looking for a beautiful tablet stand that just works, you need look no further than the SETA Tablet Stand. It’s beautiful design makes a great addition to your desktop arsenal, and the price ($45 currently in Kickstarter), makes it a great value for a stand that is sure to withstand years of use. (I have used the SETA Smartphone Stand every day, for over a year, and it still works just as well as it did the first day I tried it.)
The SETA Tablet Stand is available until September 4th on Kickstarter, and will also be available at the 1.0 Innovations website.
