So you think SOME of your friends might enjoy watching “The Big Bird Cage,” but you don’t want your Mom to know you watch such “classic” fare? You’ll be glad to hear that Netflix for iOS will now allow you to send personal recommendations to select friends via a Facebook message.
When you finish watching something you’ll be asked if you know anyone else who’d like that show, and prompted to find your friends by connecting to Facebook.
Connecting will not post to Facebook or share what you watch to your friends’ News Feed.
You can then select the friends you want to send a message to from a row of their photos, enter an optional personal message, and click “Send.” Your friends can then thank you for the recommendation if they’d like, and Netflix will let you know if they watch it, or add it to their queue.
If your friends haven’t connected Netflix and Facebook, they’ll receive your thumbs up as a private message on Facebook Messenger.
The new feature is currently available on the website, iPad, iPhone, PS3, Xbox, and many set-top boxes and smart TVs. Netflix says they’ll be adding additional platforms in the coming months.
You can download the Netflix for iOS app FREE in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
