Apple’s much-rumored 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” could arrive as soon as early 2015, says a report from Taiwan’s TechNews (via G For Games) which also suggests the bigger than bigger iPad could boast an enhanced version of the A8 processor that powers the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
A graphics enhanced “X” version of the A8 processor may be needed to power the larger 12.9-inch screen on the “Pro.” The largest iPad screen currently is the 9.7-inch display on the iPad Air.
The TechNews report also reiterates a previous claim that Apple’s upcoming “iPad Air 2” will feature 2GB of RAM, double the amount found in the current-generation iPad Air, as well as the new iPhone 6/6 Plus handsets. The Retina iPad mini is said to retain its current 1GB RAM configuration.
Apple’s next-generation “iPad Air 2” is expected to debut sometime in October, hiting the shelves in time for the holiday shopping season. The new tablet is rumored to sport a slightly thinner profile, a redesigned speaker grille, and is expected to include Touch ID.
