Microsoft has announced a device agnostic keyboard for use with iOS, Android, and Windows tablets. The keyboard is just the latest in the Redmond firm’s efforts to provide software, services, and hardware for rival platforms.
The new Universal Mobile Keyboard includes a button to switch between iOS, Android, and Windows Bluetooth modes.
The Verge notes that the keyboard includes an Android home key and a cmd key typically found on Apple keyboards. Oddly enough, even though the keyboard includes Windows compatibility, Microsoft hasn’t included a Windows logo on the keyboard.
Microsoft claims a 10 minute charge of the keyboard’s integrated battery will supply enough power for one day’s usage, while a full charge will last for six month’s average usage. The keyboard also includes a removable stand that also acts as a keyboard cover to protect the keyboard when not in use.
