Consumer Reports Enters “Bendgate” Fray – To Devise “Authoritative Test” for iPhone 6 Plus Bending Issues

Consumer Reports is preparing to jump into the iPhone 6 Plus “Bendgate” hullabaloo with both feet, as it has announced that it is in the process of designing “authoritative testing” to determine if Apple’s “bigger than bigger” handset is more susceptible to bending than comparable handsets.

9to5Mac:

According to their post, Consumer Report will critically test the new iPhones against other popular smartphones using their “sophisticated machinery” which can apply up to 1,000 pounds of force previously used to test the LG G Flex and determine whether or not the iPhone 6 models are more likely to bend than other phones.

Apple issued a statement earlier today saying that so far, only nine customers have complained to the company regarding the bending issue.

We’ll be sure to share the Consumer Reports testing results when they release them.
