Another day, another Digitimes rumor. This time the rumor covers the iPad Air 2. The publication, citing the ever popular “sources close to production,” says while the device will remain the same in respect to size and resolution, it will be thinner, will boast a faster processor, and will include a Touch ID sensor that is improved over the current iPhone 5s-only sensor.
Previous leaks haven’t been able to agree on the possibility of a thinner iPad Air 2, while some have indicated an anti-reflective coating for the device’s screen, along with mentioning the Touch ID sensor.
A faster, A8 processor is a given for the new tablet, along with the possibility of more RAM.
Apple is expected to launch the iPad Air 2 alongside a next-generation iPad mini with Retina display sometime this fall. They are also rumored to be preparing a 12.9-inch iPad for an early 2015 launch.
As always, this information is to be taken with a table shaker full of salt, (or salt substitute for those of you with the high-blood pressure thing), and is always subject to change.
