Apple Watch Requires Nightly Charging, But Apple Is Working On It

While Apple didn’t officially announce what the battery life would be like for its upcoming Apple Watch, Re/Code has found out that the wearable device will need to be charged nightly.

Re/Code:

Sources tell me that Apple isn’t yet happy with the watch’s battery life, which isn’t going to break any industry standards. “It’s about a day right now,” said one, adding that Apple is working on various modifications ahead of the device’s 2015 launch to improve it.

Re/Code contacted Apple spokeswoman Nat Kerris who declined to give an estimate on expected battery life, however she did say, “There’s a lot of new technology packed into Apple Watch and we think people will love using it throughout the day, we anticipate that people will charge nightly which is why we designed an innovative charging solution that combines our MagSafe technology and inductive charging.”

The Apple Watch will likely go on sale in early 2015. Pricing will start at $349. The device will be available in two sizes with numerous colors, materials and watch bands available to allow users to personalize their wearable device.
