Friday saw the rollout of Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to 22 new countries. The devices debuted in the United States and nine other countries on September 19th.
Continuing the iPhone 6 rollout, Apple Stores and retail outlets in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates will start sales when doors open today. In addition to brick-and-mortar store sales, Online Apple Store customers will also have a chance to place orders for delivery.
Apple racked up 4 million iPhone 6/6Plus preorders in the first 24 hours of availability in the first wave of release, with launch weekend sales totaling 10 million units.
Supplies have continued to be low in the original sale countries, so it is unknown what the supply will look like for todays second-wave of launches.
Apple hopes to have the new iPhones on sale in 115 countries by the end of the year, including China. The Chinese government announced on Tuesday that it expects to soon issue the final regulatory approval needed for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to go on sale in China.
