Photos Show an Alleged Assembled 4.7-inch iPhone 6 Display

A set of photos released on Sunday show a close-up of an assembled 4.7-inch display, allegedly bound for Apple’s upcoming “iPhone 6.” The photo shows a cover glass, mounting structures and flex cables.

AppleInsider:

The images from Apple.club.tw are said to be production versions of both black and white faceplate options, a color scheme that mirrors Apple’s current iPhone 5s offerings. Sunday’s photos are the first to show a complete screen unit containing cover glass and display.

The photos appear to be consistent with rumors currently floating around the rumor bowl, showing trimmed-down side bezels for the larger LCD, with slightly modified top and bottom areas, sporting openings for the Touch ID and ear speaker/sensor package.

The backside of the part looks to have a complete display package including backlight installed. A pair of flex cables are seen sticking out from the display’s top section, and while the connectors themselves are different from the iPhone 5s, the design is consistent with past and current iPhone models.

Apple is expected to debut its new flagship handset(s) on September 9th, with a launch expected soon after. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 may see an earlier release than the 5.5-inch model, as the larger device is said to be experiencing manufacturing issues.
