Photos of Alleged Home Button Parts for iPhone 6 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Models Surface

Photos of a pair of parts, both allegedly destined for Apple’s much rumored 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones 6 models, were posted online Friday. The photos showed designs that were quite different, both from each other, and the iPhone 5s.

AppleInsider:

The images shared by Nowhereelse.fr suggest that while the iPhone 5s home button cable looped around with a 180-degree turn, the 4.7-inch “iPhone 6” version will be a straight cable, while the 5.5-inch version may have a slight curve. The parts, if they are indeed legitimate, imply that Apple will have very different internal layouts for both of its anticipated upcoming “iPhone 6” models.

The cable’s identification numbers are said to match up with previous leaks and parts from Apple. So these parts could be legit.

A second photo on Friday shows an “induction flex” cable that is allegedly from Apple’s 4.7-inch model. The photo suggests the photo sensor location – a part of the cable on the iPhone 5s – may change with the next-generation iPhone.

This is merely the latest in a flood of photos allegedly displaying parts for Apple’s next-generation handset. As always, a grain of sea salt is suggested to accompany any such photos or reports.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone is expected to debut at an Apple event sometime in September.
