Amazon has launched the Amazon Local Register iOS compatible card reader to battle Square’s Square Reader, and PayPal’s Here card reader. The reader features an anti-swivel design, and integrates with Amazon Payments. The device/service will accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Amazon will charge a special low flat swipe rate of just 1.75% until January 2016.
The Amazon Local Register app for iOS offers the ability to manage payments, the adding of items and discounts, the ability to track cash transactions, change tax rates, and more.
The Amazon Local Register Card Reader is available from Amazon now for $10.
