Vimeo has announced a “sleeker, easier-to-use” revamp of their Apple TV app, offering simplified navigation, monthly staff favorites, content filtering, “hidden features,”and more.
New features of the Vimeo Apple TV app include:
Simplified navigation – Vimeo says they took their old menu, cut it down to the essentials, and then put it at the top of the screen for easy access. The company says this makes it easier to discover new content, track your feed and Watch Later queue, and quickly access your own videos and collections.
Staff Favorites – Vimeo’s monthly Staff Favorites Albums will highlight the best videos according to Vimeo’s staff. Winners of the Vimeo Weekend Challenges and curated channels will also be available here.
Vimeo On Demand – Browse Vimeo on Demand trailers and add anything that interests you to your “Watch Later” queue. Purchase it when you’re ready to view it.
Content Filter – The Vimeo Apple TV app will now use your content filter preferences when you’re logged in. If you’re not logged in, you’ll only see content safe for all viewers.
Easier Browsing – Hitting the “More” button on a video allows users to see other videos from that content creator. You’ll also see related Albums, Channels, and Groups.
Hidden Features – Enjoy continuous playback anywhere. Simply press the play button on your remote while any video thumbnail is selected. Quickly like or add a video to your Watch Later queue by holding down the center (select) button on your remote.
Vimeo is available worldwide for the Apple TV.
