Apple’s support page for Boot Camp was recently update, and included references to both a “Mid 2014” Mac mini, and a “Mid 2014″ 27-inch iMac.” Both references have reportedly been removed from the page, but a cached version of the page shows both models.
The Mac mini hasn’t seen an update since October of 2012, and is the only computer in Apple’s Mac lineup that hasn’t seen an update with Haswell processors. Other than the mention of a new machine on the support page, there has been no indication that a refresh for the Mac mini is on the way.
As for the iMac, Apple did release a new entry-level 21.5-inch model last month, which used MacBook Air components. The new model came in at a starting price of $1,099, a savings of $200 off the next model up.
The 27-inch iMac has not as yet seen an update in 2014, and there have been no rumors until now of its impending debut.
It’s possible that the references to the two new models were simply errors on Apple’s part, which is known for its secrecy surrounding product launches.
We’ll keep an eye on the Apple store and let you know if the a new Mac mini, or a new 27-inch iMac make a debut in the Apple Store.
