Smirky late night host Jimmy Kimmel this week aired a video segment showing pedestrians on Hollywood Boulevard being introduced to the “iWatch.” The watch was actually a $20 Casio with an Apple sticker on the back.
The people were told the cheap watch was Apple’s new smart watch and predictably, Kimmel’s team received some hilarious reactions. “It’s very lightweight and it’s kind of like old school, but still in style, you know?” said one woman, and a man complimented its rubber wrist band and the big numbers, which are “easy to see.”
While it’s true that the video is edited, but it never ceases to amaze me how many people fall for practical jokes like this. Are we really that uninformed as a nation?
