Apple is set to begin replacements of damaged iPhone 5s screens in its U.S. and Canada retail stores beginning August 4th. Apple Store Genius Bars have reportedly begun receiving deliveries of large quantities of the screens for the repair program.
The crucial service’s debut is currently scheduled for Monday, August 4th. This upcoming rollout will mark an official launch as a few stores in the U.S. have piloted iPhone 5s screen repairs over the past several months.
Apple began in-store screen repairs on the iPhone 5c in January, and began replacing other iPhone 5s and 5c parts in late 2013.
Screen replacements will run customers without AppleCare+ approximately $150 per repair. The price for completely replacing a broken iPhone 5s: $269, so this is decidedly a more affordable option.
