Apple Reduces iPhone Reuse and Recycling Trade-In Value – New Maximum Amount: $225

Apple lowered the trade-in values for its iPhone Reuse and Recycling Program in the U.S. and Canada, on Tuesday, knocking as much as $45 off what they’ll pay you for older models of the iPhone.

AppleInsider:

Apple’s new recycling pricing appears to max out at $225, down from a price of $270 advertised through the company’s website on Monday. The lower iPhone valuation was first spotted by iPhone in Canada.

Back in May, Apple conducted a special promotion to lure upgraders into the Apple Store by offering up to $199 for iPhone 4S handsets, or $99 for an iPhone 4 trade-in. The credit was required to go toward the purchase of a new iPhone.

Apple first introduced its trade-in program in the U.S in 2011, expanding the program to other countries since then.

April saw Apple begin offering free recycling of all Apple products at all locations of their Apple retail stores

Those wishing to explore other options for trade-in should check current offers for their handsets from Gazelle and eBay, who may offer more than Apple currently is.
