T-Mobile Introduces Music Freedom – Stream From iTunes Radio, Pandora, More For Free

T-Mobile’s “UnCarrier 5.0” event last night saw T-Mobile announce that its customers will be able to stream music to their devices from some of the major Internet radio services without having the data applied against their monthly T-Mobile data allotment.

The new program, dubbed “Music Freedom,” will initially support eight steaming services, including iTunes Radio, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Slacker, Rhapsody, Beatport, and Samsung’s Milk Music. T-Mobile CEO John Legere says the new plan is meant to highlight the strength of the Magenta Network.

“As a committed music freak, I’m personally outraged at the way the other guys are using the music you love to lure you into over-priced plans with sweet ‘promotional offers’ that quickly roll into higher prices or trigger those absurd overage charges,” Legere is quoted in the T-Mobile press release. “Music should be free of all that. Music should have no limits.”

T-Mobile is also planning on adding new streaming services, and is currently running a poll on their website where users can vote for services to be included at a later date.
