Facebook has added two new features to its Messenger app on iOS – video messaging, and a bigger “thumbs up” for those times “when you really, really like something.” (“We know that you like Debbie – But do you ‘LIKE, like’ her?”)
The new feature of Facebook Messenger that will likely make the most impact with users is the ability to create and send in-line video messages to friends on the fly with a “tap-an-hold” gesture. Previously, users could only send in-app photos, and previously created videos from the iOS Camera Roll. Now, by tapping and holding on the camera icon, users can record up to 15 seconds of video to share with their friends.
The feature defaults to your iPhone’s front-facing camera. (I’m not sure if I “like, like” that… – Ed.)
Messenger’s other new feature is “Big Likes,” which gives users the ability to give a HUGE “thumbs up” when you are REALY enamored of something.
Facebook Messenger is available FREE for the iPhone in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
