Apple has launched a new featured section in their App Store called “Best of April.” The section highlights the best app and game releases of April 2014. The new iOS app showcase suggests Apple will begin offering a monthly recap of the previous month’s best releases.
First noticed by MacStories, the new section lists “Great Games” and “Amazing Apps” that include titles such as Monument Valley, Fantastical for iPad, Duolingo, and Hitman GO. Apple also lists the “Best App & Game” of the month; for April 2014, Apple has picked Blizzard’s Hearthstone and Comedy Central for the iPad, and Leo’s Fortune and NYT Now on the iPhone.
It is unknown if this will become a regular monthly feature in the iOS App Store, but we’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled on June 1st to see if Apple updates the section to… Wait for it… “The Best of May.”
