There have been several reports of users experiencing issues with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound when using the Netflix app on their Apple TV set top boxes. Following an early March Apple TV update, users found they were only able to get stereo output when viewing video via the Netflix app.
While until now Apple and Netflix have both been quiet on the issue, 9to5Mac reports that Netflix has finally acknowledged the problem, and is working on a fix.
“We are aware of the issue and are working to deploy a fix.”
While Netflix didn’t provide any additional information, or give a solid date for when the issue would be remedied, at least they’ve finally acknowledged the issue, and are working to remedy the issue.
