What the hell, we haven’t published an iWatch rumor in over a month, so… The latest iWatch rumor comes from – Let’s all say it together – “DigiTimes!”
DigiTimes, via MacRumors:
Flexible PCB suppliers Flexium Interconnect, Zhen Ding Technology Holding and Career Technology reportedly have delivered FPCB samples for use in iWatch devices to Apple for validation, according to industry sources.
The report follows news yesterday from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News which said the iWatch will launch in the third quarter of this year, with Apple targeting an amazing 65 million units by the end of 2014. WHEW!
A third quarter debut would mean the device would most likely be released alongside new iPhones.
Many rumors have flown about the Intertubes about the iWatch, with most pointing toward a device that will feature biometric sensors to track health-related statistics, including heart rate, skin temperature, and UV light exposure. Apple is also reportedly readying a Healthbook app for iOS 8, similar to its current Passbook app, which will work with the iPhone and the rumored iWatch, and will track other health stats, such as calories, weight, and more.
In the midst of all the rumors, let’s not overlook one important detail. That’s a Flappy Bird icon up there on the mockup in the pic above. Let’s not lose sight of what’s important here…
