Intel’s next-generation Haswell CPUs could arrive as early as next month, allowing their use in Apple’s new iMacs and MacBook Pros that industry analyst Ming Chi Kuo predicts for later this year.
TechPowerUp, via 9to5Mac:
According to sources in the IT retail, Intel could launch these new chips, led by the Core i7-4790K, on May 10th in most markets.
The Intel Core “Haswell” Refresh processors will offer marginally better performance than the current chips, at the same price points. TechPowerUp says the 9-series chipsets will offer features like M.2 SSD support, which means they’ll be compatible with upcoming 1000 MB/s SSDs that will launch later this year.
The new Haswell chips could find their way into new iMacs and MacBooks, as predicted for release later this year by industry analyst Ming Chi Kuo.
