NBC has updated their app for the iPad and iPhone, finally adding a feature many users had been longing for: AirPlay of episodes from the app to the Apple TV.
The update is a big deal for a couple of reasons. The most notable being the fact that NBC offers full TV episodes for free through its mobile app, without the requirement of signing into your existing cable subscription like many other popular network apps.
Users will now be able to beam the content directly to their Apple TV via AirPlay. Previously, a user needed a Hulu Plus subscription in order to view NBC content on their Apple TV.
The app allows users in the United States to view previously aired full-length episodes and clips of NBC’s shows.
