Subscription-based streaming service Hulu Plus has passed the 6 million subscriber mark, and in addition to celebrating that landmark, the company says it will be offering its ad-supported free video offering to mobile device users.
The Hulu service, founded in 2007, is an online ad-supported television service which offers its users premium content from around the world. The service is jointly owned by Hulu, NBCUniversal, Fox and Disney, with support from Providence Equity Partners. Hulu Plus, the premium service offered by the company, is offered to users across numerous platforms, including iOS devices, other smartphone and tablet devices, Xbox One, PS4, and Amazon Fire TV.
In related news, Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins confirms that the company is in talks with cable and satellite companies to integrate Hulu Plus into set-top boxes.
