Bank of America to Donate $1 to Product (RED) for Every Free iTunes Download of U2’s ‘Invisible’

Even if you’re one of the 12 people on earth who don’t like U2’s music, you need to hit iTunes today, and download their latest single, ‘Invisible.’ It’s free, and for every download made before midnight Monday, Bank of America has pledged to donate one dollar, (up to $2 million), to U2 frontman Bono’s charity, Product (RED).

“We’re taking all the energy around the Super Bowl and interest in what U2’s doing and flipping it,” Bono told USA Today, “into the fight against HIV AIDS.”

Invisible was first aired as part of a 60 second commercial during during Super Bowl XLVIII that announced the partnership. The track is the first single from U2’s upcoming studio album, the 13th from the popular group.

The track was chosen because “it’s the first one we finished,” Bono told USA Today, chuckling. The band has “lots and lots of songs” compiled, he adds, but will continue to work on the album “for a couple of months. We want it to come out this summer, but you don’t want to let anyone down.”
