What does it mean for your app if its featured on ABC’s Shark Tank? For app developers Egos Ventures, an appearance on the TV show where self-made millionaires listen to entrepreneurs pitch for an investment in their products, it means your app Cycloramic jumps hundreds of spots to become the top paid app in the store overnight.
The developers behind the hands-free panorama app called Cycloramic were able to capture a $500k investment from two of the Sharks on last night’s episode.
Cycloramic first came on the scene back in 2012. It is the first app capable of taking hands-free 360-degree video, by using the iPhone’s built-in vibration motors to spin the device.
The app gained interest from all the sharks, and wound up getting a $500K investment for a valuation of over $3M. The show was filmed back in June, and in the clip above, it’s noted that the app had around 600K downloads at that time. Since then, the app has totaled over 8 million downloads, not counting the jump in download numbers following Friday’s airing of the episode.
Cycloramic Pro is available for $1.99 for the iPhone in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
