Sony has released their first update to their PlayStation App. The app, the official iOS companion app to the PlayStation 4, was released last November. The app can be used as a second-screen app alongside the PS4, and as a social networking hub for PS4 players.
For its first ever update, PlayStation App has gained a couple of notable features.
Additions include “Live From PlayStation,” which allows users to view live streams from Ustream and Twitch. The app redirects you to an external web browser, or the corresponding app to view the stream. Hopefully this will be changed in a future update.
The other main update is the addition of support for playback of video in notifications from the PlayStation Store.
There are the usual stability tweaks, and they’ve fixed the issue of the app automatically connecting to a PS4 that is in standby mode.
The PlayStation App is available FREE for the iPhone in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
