What the hell, we’re two days into the new year, let’s check out the latest rumor about manufacturing delays for a device Apple hasn’t as yet confirmed even exists…
Thursday morning saw DigiTimes report that Apple’s “iWatch” is experiencing manufacturing delays. The less than reliable publication reports that, “Several wearable devices such as Apple’s iWatch and Qualcomm’s Toq are reportedly seeing less than 50% yield rates due to difficulties applying surface treatments on their metal injection molded (MIM) chassis.” This comes from, “sources from the upstream supply chain.” Or as we like to call him, “Ralph, in accounting.”
As always, we’ll keep our eyes and ears open, (send Visine and Q-Tips c/o MacTrast, 123 E. West St…), and if we hear something solid – like an actual product announcement from Apple – you’ll be the first to know.
