CES 2014: Companies Debut Inexpensive 4K Monitors – Perfect for That Brand New Mac Pro

Now that you’ve got that new Mac Pro in your hot little hands, you may be looking for a 4K monitor to use with your new precious. Well, we’ve got good news for you at CES 2014, because it looks like some “inexpensive” 4K monitors are on the way soon.

9to5Mac:

ASUS, at the Consumer Electronics Show, has just unveiled a new 28-inch 4k monitor that will retail for just $799. Currently, ASUS’ 31.5-inch 4k offering comes in at over $3,000, and while the price difference between the two is major, there doesn’t appear to be a gap in features (via Engadget).

The ASUS 28-inch 4K screener boasts a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, as does it’s larger sibling. The monitor brings along one DisplayPort and one MHL-capable HDMI port. The monitor is fully rotatable, and has a über-quick 1ms response time.

Seiki has also announced a new 4K monitor model. Seiki says their new 29-inch monitor will go for even less than their current 39-inch model, which currently is available on Amazon.com for the low, low price of $499.99. The 28-inch model will boast three HDMI ports, a VGA port, and a composite input. Seiki won’t confirm an specific release date, saying only that it will be released sometime in the first half of 2014.

Last but not least, Lenovo is reported to be showing off a 28-inch 4K monitor that will go for $799 when it is released in April.
