Apple Releases OS X Server 3.0.2 Update

Apple has released an update for OS X Server, bringing it up to version 3.0.2. Server v3.0.2 improves the general stability of OS X Server, and fixes issues with upgrade and migration, profile manager, and Xcode services.

The software updates OS X Server v3.0 and v3.0.1 to v3.0.2. It requires OS X Mavericks v10.9.1 or later.

The update is available via the Mac App Store, appearing in the Updates pane if you have OS X Server (Mavericks) installed. Click the UPDATE button to install. Server updates will not be installed automatically, even if you have chosen to automatically install updates in the Mac App Store, this is to prevent interruption of server services.

Server v3.0.2 improves the general stability of OS X Server and delivers the following specific improvements.

Upgrade and migration

• Improves reliability of initial Server launch after upgrade or migration.
• Software Update service will now serve updates to Mavericks clients automatically after upgrade or migration.
• Fixes an issue that could prevent starting the DNS service after upgrade or migration.

Profile Manager

• Improves sending push notifications to managed devices.
• Addresses an issue that could prevent some network users from receiving managed settings on OS X devices.
• Improves reliability of enrollment for Active Directory users.
• Fixes importing .csv files for placeholders.
• Improves picking apps with non-Roman characters in their names.

Xcode Service

• Improves connecting to a remote Git repository via ssh.
