Mobile Unlocked has a nice little interactive tool on their site that shows what the contract-free price is for an iPhone 5s around the globe. It displays the costs in actual costs, and as a percentage of average annual income.
There are four countries where an iPhone sells for around 20 percent of the average annual income: Philippines (18%), Jordan (18.2%), Vietnam (19.8%) and India (22.3%).
The U.S. comes in at just under 1.4%, the UK at 2.4%, and Qatar – which is one of the richest countries – tallies the lowest percentage, at less than 0.8%.
As far as actual cash outlay for an iPhone, the USA takes honors as the cheapest, at $707, with Jordan grabbing the high end at $1091.
