New Benchmark Shows Retina iPad mini Same Speed as iPhone 5s, Just Shy of iPad Air Numbers

It’s just the first day of release for the new Retina Display iPad mini, and already a user has conducted a benchmark test of their new precious via Geekbench.

9to5Mac:

The results indicate that the processor speed is clocked at 1.29 GHz, and this almost the same speed as the iPhone 5s, which comes in at 1.30GHz. For comparison, the pricier, larger iPad Air comes in at 1.39 GHz.

While the mini’s A7 is clocked at a slightly lower speed than its big brother the iPad Air, users are unlikely to notice a huge difference in performance.

Geekbench 3 is available for the iPad and iPhone – $0.99 in the App Store [DIRECT LINK]
