Following Apple’s revamp of their iWork office suites for both iOS and OS X, many long-time iWork users found that several features they had used in previous versions were now missing. Apple has good news for those users.
Today, Apple has responded to these complaints and has said that it will be restoring several of the missing features over the course of the next 6 months. These features will return in software updates.
While you wait for these features to return, you can continue to use them via the previous versions of the iWork apps. If you haven’t deleted them already, they are available in the “Applications” -> “iWork ’09” folder.
One important note from Apple:
New or existing documents you open in the new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote use the new unified file format. These files can’t be opened in the previous versions of the iWork applications. To revert the document file format to the previous version, you can do one of the following:
